The Dunedin and Mosgiel area hosts several bunch rides. The local area is lucky to have a tight-knit cycling community, and many of our riders take part in several different bunchies. These rides vary quite largely in level, so there’s guaranteed to be something for everyone.
Women who ride bikes in Dunedin (Messenger Group)
A Messenger group for women of all levels and a place where people can do posts for group rides (social to advanced). We will have social events and coffees (of course) and will also feature some educational stuff as well – racing tactics, nutrition, bike maintenance etc. To be added contact Karen: karen.macaskill@al.nz
Sunday Bunch Ride
Sunday’s, leaving 9 am at the clubrooms (Seddon Park Velodrome, Mosgiel). Keep an eye on the Facebook page to see when it’s running. All welcome.
SAMS Ride
SAMS is a popular ride which generally takes place in the summer months. The ride leaves at a leisurely pace from just outside Mosgiel and travels out past Outram to ride the SAMS block. From Miller Rd, the pleasantries vanish, it’s race pace and every man for himself back to Mosgiel.

- Where: Leaving from Dukes Rd, Hazlett Rd intersection
Saturday’s Bunch
A Saturday morning group ride taking in a variety of different routes around Dunedin (around 2 to 4 hours in length). Finishing up back in town for coffee. More details can be found by joining: https://www.facebook.com/groups/sdrdunedin

- Where: Leaves Vogel Street (outside Good Good).
Starfish Ride
The Starfish ride is typically an easier bunch ride that leaves on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from the Starfish Cafe in St Clair. It normally takes in routes on the harbour such as the high road, and the Orokonui loop.

Phantom
Phantom is the earliest bunch ride in Dunedin, running from 6am on Saturday. Normally, it takes in Highcliff Rd enroute to Taiaroa Head.

Friday Blast
Friday Blast is a short and sharp start to a Friday Morning. It typically goes out to Broad Bay at a cruisy pace, and hits full throttle on the return leg.
